I keep telling everyone that as we have to pay taxes so should we have to vote. Some argue that it is not democratic or "free" but I say you can elect to abstain - just cast a ballot.
Seems in England they have some elections that offer A, B, or none of the above. Sounds good to me.

Interesting article, but I wished he would have touched on a couple of different points...

-the effect of the birth environment on a child's gut flora
-the balance of good and bad bacteria in the mother, preconception, antenatal and post birth...
-the importance of mother's milk and the quality of a mother's milk (her diet)
-introduction to solid foods, the quality of that food and it's effects on gut flora
-foods that feed good bacteria, foods that don't
-do probiotics really work
-why hundreds of years ago, people weren't dying of diabetes or obese, no matter their genetic make up (from genes or from bacteria)
-the effect of environmental toxins on gut flora (in our water, air, cleaning products, vaccines)

Oh, and he is totally wrong about the Inuit diet. (I have a few books and studies to share to prove this) They were in optimum health when they ate a native diet high in raw animal fat, organ meats, and muscle meat...no osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity...it wasn't just their bacteria that decided they could eat this diet and thrive. (And the modern Inuits who live on a Western diet of highly processed foods are suffering from serious health problems, this includes the oats that he refers to)

I'll stop here...we'll continue at the kitchen table over our raw milk yogurt!

Love you.

I first have to say that I love how you wrote your comments. Precise and to the point. And I agree with you.

I have always wanted to have someone in power that lead the country. Looking to the past, the few that impacted and made a positive contribution were the best. Roosevelt, Kennedy (to just name a couple) created lasting benefits from their tenure as president.

I don't feel that McCain picked Palin for anything other than she fitted the profile of what he suspected a female VP should be.

I am not impressed.
